Ellen Jacobs Associates currently seeks Digital Media/Social Media and Journalism Interns for Summer 2017.

Interns at Ellen Jacobs Associates will be part a creative and supportive work team, with the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the performing arts and publicity on a national and international level.

This is an unpaid internship; interns MUST be able to get school credit and will also receive compensation in the form of performance tickets.

Interns must be available at least 15 hours per week.

Publicity/Journalism Intern

Responsibilities include:
-Research materials for press releases
-Gathering client materials, assembling and disseminating digital press kits (publicity reports and updates, etc)
-Handling press requests
-Answering telephone / interacting with managers and artists
-Daily monitoring of media
-Proofreading
-Coordinating and attend media/artist interview
-Petting chess, the office pup

Qualifications:
-Highly organized
-Editing and proofreading skills
-Detail-oriented
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Mail Chimp, Social Media, (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
-Knowledge of Photoshop, a plus
-A love for all things New York arts—especially performing arts

Digital Media / Social Media Intern

Responsibilities Include:
-Creating social media strategy
-Updating website content
-Formatting print press and press releases
-Assistance in tailoring social media strategies to client’s unique needs
Qualifications:
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and Social Media
-Detail-oriented
-Basic knowledge of html is a plus
