Les Ballets de Monte Carlo

Aside from watching the changing azure of the Mediterranean below while being transported from Nice to Monte Carlo on a helicopter, one of the most indelible memories of working with the company was Jean-Christophe Maillot’s wit and razor sharp choreography. His intelligence and wicked sense of humor made the company’s City Center seasons so much fun to work on.  The company was new to New York, which presented an exciting challenge; the result was great publicity and appreciative audiences including an invitation to perform at BAM.
